It’s crazy. Last week it was 2 day 1 night outfield. I wasn’t even mentally prepared. This coming week it’s 3 days and 2 nights. The week after that it’s 4 days and 3 nights. Woohoo. Not to mention the Big One - exercise Crescendo - on October 12, lasting 2.5 weeks. Sigh. Last 2 final months of shit and nonsense before ORD.
And boy and I suffering. The only way to keep your sanity is if you just withdraw within yourself during those times in the field. Retreat into the recesses of your mind. Make yourself numb. Sometimes you dig in so deep within yourself you can’t claw your way out even if you want to.
Funny, I remember my BMT camp was kinda bad, cos it rained every falutin’ day. Well, at least I thought it was bad. Last week I couldn’t even take 2 days and 1 night. Maybe cos it’s the fact that engineers don’t sleep much, if at all. Most of the stuff is done at night. During BMT field camp you could expect to sleep after dark. More than enough sleep.
Going to ORD already. Still can’t believe I ended up an engineer in the army. It’s just somehow not me. Haha (-_-’)

hey…hautzeng here…if you remember me. Crescendo is going to be really fun if you aren’t the type that will miss home. i was there for 16 days. say hello to the locals for me. haha. be prepared to spent quite a bit on food. even when your outfield. they’ll follow where you go. anywhere. if you can bring a field chair and hammock. they’ll come in real handy. and if you’re a dota player, bring more money! yup, they’ve lan shops there and you’ll be really bored there so be prepared to camp in the canteen and the lan shops. at least they fly commercial but you might end up at budget terminal. u can still get ur liquer at the dfs there anyway so it doesn’t matter. C130 more fun though, but the guy who threw up in it might beg to differ. u can see my blog if you wan more info. i did a little journal while i was there. not promoting my blog here =) enjoy!
