Woohoo! Played field soccer today and it felt great! It was the second time in my life playing a proper 11-a-side match and it rocked! I played centre back. I had a great defensive partner who was calm under pressure, which was an incredible experience because we could pass our way out of danger.
It’s a joy to play field soccer. The passing, the tactics. There are just so many aspects to the game as compared to street soccer. There were a lot of times when I had to make snap decisions based on my judgement. Like whether I should close the guy down or keep backing off. Of course then there’s the physical aspect. Shielding the ball, shoulder challenges, and of course dirty tricks. Hehe. Such as giving the striker a little shove as he starts his run to make him lose his balance. Or blocking the guy’s run when he’s closing down on a team mate. It’s good to be evil, man. Haha.

It was our turn on stage during my JC’s talent night. One by one we listed off our dedications. Mine was to my then-girlfriend. I spotted her in the audience and pointed from the stage, “This one’s for [you].” I still can’t believe I had the cheek to do that! I mean, that was so cool! Haha. That’s like only something that happens in the movies or something. Haha. It was so dramatic. Shit this is silly. Gushing over things I did in the past. Hehe. Those were fond memories…

Ryan’s girl Geri organised a surprise birthday gathering for him last night. Which I thought was damn nice of her. Had lots of fun crapping and watching soccer. Tried Hoegarden. Wasn’t that nice. Should have gone for my white wine instead. Drat.

After months of searching, I’ve finally bought a watch. I just knew from the moment I laid my eyes on it at the Guess retail store in Orchard. And I’ve been damn picky about the thing. Haha. But finally! No more glancing at my wristband and forgetting it’s not a watch! Harhar!
