Feel free to give it a miss. Disappointing show with 2 dimensional characters. The plot moves too quickly to allow relationships between the characters to develop. In fact, the only people that had a decent conversation are:

1) Eragon with his mentor Brom
2) the tyrant king with his underling the sorcerer
3) the sorcerer and his minions

The elf girl and Eragon didn’t even talk much, and yet there they are holding hands and stuff. My god. Get a better scriptwriter man!

Great special effects for the dragon though. A shame the show lacks soul. The fact that I can’t even recall the names of the characters even though I just finished watching the movie half an hour ago shows how forgettable they are.

Almost every fantasy movie released nowadays will be drawn in comparison to LOTR. Maybe LOTR has set such a high standard for the fantasy genre that anything falling short looks shabby. I always find myself comparing epic battle scenes to the Battle of Helm’s Deep or the Battle for Minas Tirith. But as epic as it was, I will always remember LOTR for the well developed characters - something that the sequel for Eragon definitely has to learn from.
